1. How do I register on Bidsy?

To participate in auctions, you must first create an account using a valid email address. No further verification is required. Once registered, you can immediately start bidding on available items.

2. Can I view the items before bidding?

No. Bidsy is an online-only auction platform, and no physical viewings are allowed. Each listing includes detailed images and descriptions, including any known flaws or damage. Please review these carefully before placing a bid.

3. Where are the items located?

All items are housed at 27 Manchester Road, Chiselhurst, East London, 5247. You may collect your item from this address once full payment has been received and cleared.

4. How do the auctions work?

Each item is listed for a set duration with a visible countdown timer. You may place a bid at any time while the auction is active. If you follow or bid on an item, you will receive email notifications as the auction nears its closing time.

5. What happens if someone bids at the last minute?

To ensure fair bidding, Bidsy uses an anti-sniping feature. If a bid is placed within 5 minutes of the auction’s scheduled end time, the auction will automatically be extended by another 1 minute.

6. How do bid increments work?

Bid increments are automatically calculated based on the current highest bid:
R0 – R999: Increments of R25
R1,000 – R2,999: Increments of R50
R3,000 and above: Increments of R100
You will always be able to see the current highest bid and the next acceptable bid amount on the item page.

7. What happens if I win an auction?

If you are the highest bidder when the auction closes:
You will receive an email notification
You will have 3 calendar days to complete payment via Paygate or EFT (Direct Bank Transfer)
You have 5 calendar days to collect your item or arrange delivery (if available)

8. Where do I collect my item from?

Collections can be made from our premises at:
 27 Manchester Road, Chiselhurst, East London, 5247

Mondays – Fridays: 09h00-17h00
Saturday: 09h00-13h00
Sundays 09h00-13h00
Public Holidays: 09h00-13h00
Please ensure payment has been fully processed before arriving for collection. No item will be released without cleared funds.

9. Do you offer delivery?

Yes, delivery is available at checkout for an additional charge. However, this service is limited to main areas within East London only. We do not currently deliver to rural or outlying regions.

10. Can I return an item if I’m not happy with it?

No. All items are sold “as is” and are non-returnable. Known defects and conditions are listed in each product description. Please review all images and details carefully before bidding.

11. What happens if I don’t pay or collect on time?

If payment is not received within 3 days, your winning bid will be cancelled.
If collection or delivery is not arranged within 5 days, your order will be cancelled and your payment will be refunded minus a 5% cancellation fee (based on the winning bid amount).
